I have been a hardware shop owner for decades. The business was handed down from my great grand parents to my grandparents to my parents and finally to me and it will still be handed down to my children and their future children after my retirement. I remembered one time when there was nationwide blackout, the next day a lot of customers are looking for Frigidaire Parts. I was told by my parents that, one way to make sure your fridge will not break down after a blackout is to make sure it is unplugged from the socket before the power will resume.

The impact of the current to the fridge if the plug is not pulled will be damaging. Of course, if it happens for the first time, the damange will not be severe but if it happens everytime there is a blackout surely the electrical structure of the fridge will be harmed. I often remind my own children to pull all electrical appliances from the socket everytime we experience black out or power alteration.
